Hercules brings a new look to creating websites. Features include the amazing visual composer, a host of short codes and pre-made layouts, a variety of portfolio layouts, Layer Slider, and more. With this amazing theme at your disposal you can create a beautiful website.

Before you can complete the installation, make certain you have unpacked the entire package. This is very important! You can complete the installation in either of two ways:

  1. WordPress Theme Manager - please go to Appearance > Themes > Add new > Upload, select the zipped theme folder called hercules.zip and press Install Now WordPress will do the rest for you.
  2. FTP upload-upload non-zipped hercules theme folder to the /wp-content/themes/ folder in the WordPress installation folder on your server.

All your data is safe becausetheme file updates do not change anything in the database. It is still recommended to always make a backup of your files & database.

IMPORTANT!!! After theme installation, you will see a box with information about required and optional plugins. To install and activate them, navigate to Appearance > Install Plugins and install only those plugins that are required, or are optional but necessary.

Hercules comes with one click demo import feature. Go to Appearance > Import Demo Data. Click on the button Import Demo Data. But before starting make sure that all the required plugins are installed and activated.

Update Permalink Structure

After you setup the demo content you may need to change the permalink structure. Go to Settings > Permalink

Set a Placeholder Image

Incase any media was failed to import or you may forget to assign an image on any post then the placeholder image will be used. Set a proper image that will be used as placeholder image.

Menu creation works as in default Wordpress.

To add your own menus go to Appearance > Menus, type Name for your menu and click Create Menu.Then, in Theme Locations for position Main menu you need to choose a menu that you’ve just created.

Now you can add Pages, Posts and Custom Links from blocks located on the left. You need to save everything by clicking on Save Menu.

If you want to add special items or features to a menu such as portfolio categories, posts categories, classes for links,etc, click on the "Screen options" button in the right top corner to find additional menu item options.

This theme also features a Mega Menu option, allowing you to create attractive mega menu with 4 columns.

For Mega Menu columns you must add a class mega to the parent menu item.

Sometimes you may occasionally encounter a moment when you want to change something on your site that is not available in theme options panel. , e.g., font size, color, margin, or some other customization.

You can setup your logo, favicon, google analytics code, color scheme, enable/disable one page parallax, copyright text from general panel.

You can easily enable/disable modules according to your needs.

You can easily change the header appearance. Go to Theme options > Header. You can change header visibility, layout and breadcrumb background image, show/hide search form, social links, contact information.

You can give the breadcrumb title, change the image, display type. It also contains the options to change the header and footer appearance.

You can easily change the page layout of your blog/archive pages. Choose the sidebar, give breadcrumb title. You can show your blog posts in a column view or wide view. For column view you can choose the columns in a row.

From here you can choose blog post pages layout, sidebar, enable/disable related posts, header, footer appearance. But these options will be overridden if you set these options from post edit pages.

From here you can choose portfolio post pages header, footer appearance.

You can easily change the page layout of your woocommerce archive pages. Choose the sidebar, give breadcrumb title. You can change the columns per row, products per page, header and footer appearance.

From here you can choose event post pages layout, sidebar, enable/disable related, upsell products, header and footer appearance. But these options will be overridden if you set these options from post edit pages.

Here you can set your social profile links and contact information.

Here you can customize social sharing options.

Here you can copy/download your current option settings. Keep this safe as you can use it as a backup should anything go wrong, or you can use it to restore your settings on this site (or any other site).

Writing a post or page doesn't differ from doing so when using other themes. You add a title, add some content, and categories and thats about it. When writing or editing a post you will notice that the bottom side contains several sections.

Here you can overwrite the default settings of your options panel. You can choose a custom sidebar position (left/right/no sidebar) and if you choose to display a sidebar you can also set to display a custom sidebar.

You can set the layout of a specific page to boxed, change header visibility, layout. You also have the option to use either Revolution Slider or Layer Slider.

Hercules comes with a bunch of shortcodes. You can easily use these shortcodes into any pages.

You can change font family, size, style, line-height, letter-spacing, text-transform. You have the options to choose fonts from over 200 fonts.

Go to Ultimate Fonts. You can add as many elements as you want.

After adding the elements go to Appearance > Customize > Fonts, then click on the element that you want to change the typography.

Use .mo/.po files and Poedit software

For all those who prefer translation using files included in the theme we recommend using the .mo/.po files. Those files work in pairs, so for each language you need to have 2 files with the same name but a different extension. For example, if you want to translate into German language, your files would be de_DE.mo and de_DE.po
